This half-term our topic is:
In science we will be looking at weather, plants and animals.
Our geography will be based around the UK and we will study an influential person in our history.
Our art will be looking at artists around the world.

YEAR 1 – little, made, about, asked, house, your.
Write a letter to your new teacher (or me), telling them all about you. What you like or don’t like. What you would like us to know before we all start back to school in September. What would you like to achieve when you join Year 1 or Year 2? I will pass them onto your new teacher, as soon as I get them.
MONEY – Please learn what each British Coins and British Notes represent. Can you make 10p using different coins? How many different ways can you spend 10p? What about 20p? Perhaps you could set up a shop and Role Play spending your money? Remember to give the exact change. If you get pocket money, can you save some and go to the shop to buy something? Have fun with this. The shop can be set up anywhere, for the whole of summer. By the time you come back to school you will know more than Mrs Williams!
Draw or paint a picture for your new teacher (or me) to put up in the classroom in September. It can be of anything. It will help make our classrooms look more colourful.

Create a poster to remind people about taking care of our Wonderful World. Think about what is important in our world and what we need to keep in our world, forever!

The content realates to our continuing use of online technology, media and platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Start to put together your presentation about a different country. Will you create a poster, PowerPoint or leaflet, or something else?
Using the country that you have been researching, can you find out about a famous artist or inventor that is from that country? Try to recreate one of his paintings or inventions. Can you invent something new? I look forward to seeing your photos.

EYFS – Practice counting forwards and backwards to/from 20. Can you count up to 100? Can you count in 10’s to 100, starting at 0? Continue practicing 1 more and 1 less to 20. Its quite tricky!
YEAR 1 – Practice counting forward and backwards to/from 100. Can you cross the 10’s without help? Can you count in 10’s to 100? can you count in 5’s to 100? Continue practicing 1 more and 1 less to 100. 1 less is tricky. Can you cross the 10’s? eg. What is 1 more than 49? What is 1 less than 60?
Try cooking something that is traditionally from a different country. eg. Make you own Pizza’s-Italy, Chocolate Brownies-USA, Enchiladas-Mexico or a Full English Breakfast! Send me photos of your food, to make me feel hungry!
Research a country of your choice. You have 4 weeks to complete this task. (6th June) Find out the following – location, climate, Physical features, Human features, History, climate. You can present your information in your own unique way. A PowerPoint Presentation, Booklet, Leaflet, Fact file, interview with a travel agent. I look forward to learning all about a new country.
